{Vintage Cookbook}

During a recent trip to a local antique mall I stumbled upon this little beauty.

It is a cookbook that was published during the 1930’s and was gifted to new brides in the Wichita area.

There were two copies available, but I chose the copy that had been lovingly cared for by the original owner. Tucked inside are little notes, recipes and household hints that are timeless.

I have had a lot of fun looking through the pages {over and over}. Nothing better than looking through the pages of the past.

The cookbook has quite a few recipes that I would be interested in trying. I appreciate that most of them are made from ingredients that I actually have in my cabinet. Nothing that I would have to special order. And, even better, most of the meals are easy to make. IMG_5774 copy

There are some recipes that I think only a select few would enjoy. For example, this recipe for Fried Frogs. {I think I’ll pass! There is nothing I want to eat that might ‘hop’ off my plate! :D }

Besides all the wonderful recipes I love perusing all the great advertisements. IMG_5777 copy  IMG_5798 copy IMG_5799 copy

Each chapter begins with a little poem or quote. I thought this little poem was pretty cute. What do you think?

I’ve stumbled upon quite a few other little goodies during my shopping trips. I hope to share them with you during the coming weeks.

What a great find! I love cookbooks and I have several older ones that belonged to great-grandmother's of mine. I love the graphics. Thank you for sharing.
